Jasper continues to be a happy little guy (or not so little, really - he was 18lbs 10oz at 8 months), and is starting to babble more and more. He definitely has the Da sounds down, and loves to exchange Da Da Das with whoever he's talking to or whoever's holding him. He also likes seeing himself and watching me in the mirror and is starting to get into reading and touching books. A couple of the current favorites are That's Not My Dragon and What Do You Say. Odin can still make him laugh the easiest of all of us - somehow I think Jasper won't mind being rear-facing in the car as much as Odin did, since he's got his big brother to keep him company and keep him entertained in the back seat.
I think that soon we will have photos or video of Jasper crawling. He's still creeping mostly backwards, but is working really hard to go forwards and get up on his knees. He loves to stand (with our help, of course) and dance. Even while he's sitting he'll rock and bob and dance, smiling all the while.
