Snow in October

For some reason, it snowed Friday night. Saturday morning, Odin woke up to the snow and was very excited to point out all the places he saw the snow (there's snow on my slide, there's snow on my chair, there's snow on the grass), and wanted to go out in the snow. He finally got his wish when we went to music class, but we didn't really spend any time playing in the dusting of snow before it melted.

But, the snow stuck in Odin's mind, and his favorite books for the weekend were "Snowman" and "The Snowy Day". We read these at bedtime both Saturday and Sunday, and when he woke up Monday morning, there was even more snow (it's still snowing as I write this). Odin was even more excited by this snow now that he had some (minor) snow experience, and again pointed out everything that had snow on it.

And, he got to go in the snow again on the walk to Chad's car in the garage. It was still snowing as he walked down the back sidewalk, and he was mesmerized by the falling snow. He toddled slowly along the sidewalk, and as I watched him from the back door, I heard him occasionally say, in his little whispery toddler voice, "nowflake".
