Last Summer Day at the Lake

It feels like someone flipped a switch from summer to fall just after Labor Day. Good thing we made it up to the lake one more time before it got too cold. It was plenty warm up there; Odin and I had our regular breakfast out at the picnic table, then he was off to play.
He had fun playing with his bucket and wagon, even up at the shed instead of on the beach.
But tried to make a break for it anyway. Fortunately, Chad was able to fetch him back before he got too far away from us.
After this undignified return, he took some time alone to contemplate the vastness of the Minnesota prairie.
